Our ninth (can you believe it?) annual conference was held July 18-21, 2025 at the West Palm Beach Marriott. Based on the success of our Mental Health Workshop in November 2023 and the related offerings at the 2024 annual conference, this year we introduced our new wellness program, the Wellness Factor. Since the mind, body, spirit are all connected, it requires attention to all three anyone to live well. Activities focusing on self-care, sound therapy, nutrition and more were complemented by Spark Stations providing materials to support continuing these activities at home including journals, candles, art kits and more.

Since we always prioritize incorporating the topics requested by our Members, this conference featured 35 (35!) breakout sessions addressing topics such as maximizing prophylaxis, GI bleeding, nosebleeds. Additionally, we held our full assembly sessions cover key disease state material and unique medical challenges facing severe von Willebrand disease patients. Not only did we see a large number of new attendees, but also many new Faculty members. And a couple more new things this year: our pre-conference Parenting Workshop for parents/guardians of sVWD patients aged 0-17, and the implementation of our Shadow Program, wherein medical professionals working with severe VWD patients were offered the opportunity to “shadow” Faculty members through the Conference. 

With so much going on, it was extremely important to make sure everyone had the opportunity to relax and connect during our evening receptions and entertainment offerings. Thanks to our welcoming committee, chaired by Jan Golec, for creating such a warm welcoming reception for our first-time attendees.
