The 2025 Provider Education Workshop on Severe VWD will be held Friday, November 14 through Sunday November 16, from 5:00PM Friday through 4:00PM on Sunday.

There is an optional Mental Wellness Seminar available Friday, November 14 from 10:00AM – 4:00PM.

The Foundation has identified a strong need for focused education for providers across multiple disciplines specific to severe von Willebrand disease patients.  The curriculum will be presented by Foundation Faculty and will be designed to increase provider knowledge on management, treatment options and disease state including laboratory and genetic testing.

Attendance is open to any medical professionals who work with, or expect to be working with, severe VWD patients including (but not limited to):

Adult/Pediatric Hematologists
Gastroenterologists
Hematology Nurses/NPs
Orthopedists/Physical Therapists
OB/Gynecologists
Physical Therapists
Genetic Counsellors
Social Workers
Mental Health Professionals

The Foundation will provide free of charge a hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights, and all meals and supplies for those attending. If the optional pre-workshop Mental Wellness Seminar is selected, we will also provide a hotel room Thursday night, and meals beginning with Friday’s breakfast.

SESSIONS WILL CONSIST OF FULL ASSEMBLY GENERAL SESSIONS AND SMALLER GROUP BREAKOUTS
The smaller group breakouts will focus on specific topics within disciplines and will allow for more interactive group discussion. Sessions will include:

DISEASE STATE genetics, symptoms, treatment options and management
CASE STUDY PRESENTATIONS by both faculty and attendees for discussion
RESEARCH UPDATE AND INNOVATION FAIR
PATIENT PANEL DISCUSSION A panel of six Foundation Members will discuss living with sVWD

NEW THIS YEAR: PRE-WORKSHOP SEMINAR ON MENTAL WELLNESS
Providers may register for an optional pre-workshop seminar on Mental Wellness, addressing not only how we can support our patients in maintaining mental wellness but also discuss and introduce techniques for providers to enhance their own mental wellbeing.
