PROVIDER EDUCATION WORKSHOP
October 9-11, 2026
VWD Connect Foundation will host the Third Provider Education Workshop on Severe Von Willebrand Disease, October 9-11, 2026 at the West Palm Beach Marriott in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The weekend event will bring together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including hematologists, genetic counselors, nurse practitioners, RN’s, social workers, health educators, physical therapists, clinical research coordinators and related disciplines such as OB/Gyn, orthopedics and dental. Participants will come from all around the country (including Puerto Rico!) mostly representing HTCs along with private hematology practice providers.*
Our goal is to foster enthusiasm and collaboration, sparking meaningful conversations between providers who may not have had the chance to connect otherwise.
A variety of sessions will be featured including education on the diagnosis and symptoms of sVWD, management challenges - such as prophylaxis, GI bleeding, and reproductive issues – and case studies. Attendees will also hear updates from industry professionals, and well as from the Foundation’s research committee members.
Once again, we will hold a Patient Panel, where Foundation members very openly share their individual experiences and perspectives in the hopes of improving patient-centered care.
The workshop will also feature an Innovation Fair. Participants will have an opportunity to explore a room full of activities by visiting the fair exhibitors. Tables will be hosted by Fair Sponsors who will introduce their company’s innovations, whether it is a creative way to explain complex issues in VWD to patients, share innovations in potential treatment options or demonstrate novel approaches to reduce bleeding. The Foundation will also hold creative active learning centers featuring key take home points in sVWD management. The Foundation’s Wellness Factor Program will be well represented, inviting participants to try several wellness techniques.
The weekend workshop will begin on Friday, October 9 with an opening reception at 5:00pm and end at 4:00pm after lunch on Sunday, October 11. The Foundation will provide free of charge a hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights, and all meals and supplies for those attending. If your travel arrangements require an additional overnight stay in order to attend the full Workshop through its 4:00pm conclusion, the Foundation will also provide a hotel room Sunday night. Travel assistance is available for attendees with a strong desire to attend who cannot afford travel costs. Please contact Jeanette Cesta at 561-373-3889 as soon as possible as funds are limited.
